What the logo means

Certified for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2  Certified for Microsoft Windows Server 2008      The "Certified for Windows® Server 2008 R2" logo and the "Certified for Windows® Server 2008" logo identifies hardware and software solutions that meet Microsoft standards for compatibility and recommended practices with the Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 operating systems. Solutions that have earned the Certified for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Certified Windows Server 2008 logos take advantage of top-performing technologies, such as 64-bit and virtualization. Certified for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Certified for Windows Server 2008 applications have been tested by a third party test vendor. Microsoft periodically reviews the Certified for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Certified for Windows Server 2008 hardware solutions for compliance with these standards.
"Works with Windows® Server 2008 R2" and "Works with Windows® Server 2008" status is for software solutions that have passed Microsoft's standards for application compatibility on the platform. ISV test results are independently verified by a third party test vendor.
"Pledged Applications" Pledged applications are software applications developed by ISVs to run on Windows Server 2008 R2 and for which the applicable ISV has pledged to offer frontline technical support on the approximate date indicated.
The "Supported" qualification level is designed to clarify to customers if existing Designed for Windows Server 2003 systems will be supported when the system is upgraded to Windows Server 2008. Microsoft provides the "Supported" qualification to indicate that a system is compatible with Windows Server 2008, but does not take full advantage of the Windows Server 2008 operating system's functionality and is unable to obtain the Certified for Windows Server 2008 logo.

Designed for Microsoft Windows Server 2003   Certified for Microsoft Windows Server 2003     The "Designed for Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003" and "Certified for Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003" logos identify hardware and software merchandise that meet or exceed certain quality standards of compatibility with the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system. Microsoft offers these logos to help customers identify merchandise that meet a baseline definition of features and quality goals and periodically reviews compliance with these standards.
